Air conditioning crib sheet

The aircon in most of the server rooms works best set at about 20. 18 is too low, as they tend to start icing up.

The tap symbol that appears on the controller occasionally is a maintenance timer. However we do not currently make any use of it; the units are serviced roughly annually by Barber and Clarke. Press the button at bottom right marked with a grid to get rid of the symbol.

In B108a the units are capable of heating as well as cooling for some reason. Therefore we must set them all to the same temperature or they fight. In 372 the opposite applies: one unit should be set to 20 and one to 22 so that it only kicks in if the first one is struggling. The other rooms only have one unit each and so there is no problem.

Things work best with fans set on high (button with two fan symbols, middle right) and the direction set to vary (button top second from right). You can change the mode by pressing the top right button. The mode should always be the one with the snowflake symbol. There is also a fan-only mode on all the units.
